Concealer, highlighter, mascara, eyeshadow… so many ways to make your face glow! There is no better way to start the new year with some fresh makeup to create the perfect polished look. There are so many makeup brands, and it’s so easy to get confused and caught up in the trends. I have included a few of my go-to makeup products.
Base Camp: Base/Face Makeup
The Beauty Blender is an essential tool that helps to make your makeup look flawless! The Veil Hourglass Primer is forever going to be my go-to. It minimizes pores and makes a smooth palette to create a masterpiece. Personally, I don’t like to wear heavy makeup such as foundation, but BB cream is my absolute favorite! It’s like a foundation, primer, and moisturizer all in one. This Smashbox BB cream is so light and comfortable to wear. It covers any red spots on my face, and matches my skin color perfectly. I have, what I consider, incredibly dark circles and the Bobbi Brown Under Eye Corrector covers them quickly and easily. We all have bad skin days, and the Neutrogena Skin Clearing Concealer makes my bad skin days so much better!
Pow(d)erful Makeup
Who doesn’t like a good highlight? The E.L.F highlighter in apricot glow provides a beautiful and natural glow. Blush is one my favorite parts of my makeup routine, and the Tarte blush offers a light pink rosy glow to my cheeks. It is so versatile and can be used for everyday or full glam. For setting my makeup, I like to use the Neutrogena Skin Clearing Powder. It’s classic, inexpensive, keeps your skin matte, and sets your makeup to last all day.
It’s all in the Eyes: Eye Makeup
Eye makeup really pulls the whole look together. If you want to go from bland to glam, mascara really helps. The Bad Gal Bang mascara by Benefit makes your lashes look like eyelash extensions with one quick brush of the wand. This mascara lengthens your eyelashes and looks like you already put eyeliner on. Speaking of eyeliner, the Marc Jacobs gel eyeliner pencil is worth every penny! It’s so easy to apply and adds depth to your eyes and makes your eye color pop. For eyebrows, I love to use the Soft & Natural Brow set from Benefit. It has everything you need to shape, fill, and set your eyebrows to create perfect brows in a snap. The Finish Line: Finishing touches
To finish the makeup look: lipstick & setting spray! I never leave the house without lipstick or lipgloss, and when I discovered this Bobbi Brown lip color, I instantly fell in love with it! It enhances your natural lip color, makes your lips look fuller, and ties together your makeup look perfectly. Setting spray is a must in my makeup routine to make my makeup last all day, and I have found that this NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray works best for me.
